PRIVATE LESSONS

Not sure if working with clay is for you? Come try your hand at it!  

BrickHouse offers both one and two hour private lessons, for you, and maybe a friend or two, if you can’t find time for a full session of classes.  You’ll have a great time working one-on-one with an experienced instructor, where you will create pieces using hand building or wheel throwing techniques.

Wheel Throwing

Students shape a lump of clay using a pottery wheel. This beginner class will go through wedging, centering, and pulling up a wall.

Hand Building

Students work at the table and use hands and a minimum of basic tools to create a project of choice (eg. Mug, bowl, lidded box).

SAME DAY/ NEXT DAY/ WALK-IN APPOINTMENTS ARE NOT AVAILABLE.

Try It Out sessions are by appointment on an individual basis. Appointments may be available during the day or in the evening any day of the week. Please understand that your requested date may not be available.

DO I GET TO TAKE HOME WHAT I MAKE?

You can keep what you make during the session for $5 a piece (wheel throwing) or $10 (handbuilding). The instructor will finish your piece, this includes glazing and two firings. Your pieces will be ready for pickup in 2-4 weeks. If you would like to glaze your work yourself, you can schedule another lesson with your instructor.

REFUND & CANCELLATION POLICY

An unscheduled lesson may be refunded within 60 days after the purchase date. A scheduled lesson must be paid in full 24 hours after agreeing to the lesson.Scheduled lessons require 24-hour notice prior to the appointment in order to reschedule for a different time slot. Scheduled lessons require 36-hour notice prior to the appointment for a full refund. Failing to attend a scheduled lesson without notification to the instructor or office, will render the class non-refundable and cannot be rescheduled.

Same day cancellations cannot be rescheduled or refunded.
