Blue and Green Patterned Vase
Size: 8" wide. 3.5" opening.
Materials: Clay, Stoneware, Tenmuko, Red Brown
About: I created the vase by throwing on the wheel. I started by making a straight cylinder. When I reached my desired height I used a plastic rib to create the rounded sides. I then collared in slightly to create a neck. - After establishing the neck I flared the opening . When the pottery was leather hard and trimmed I sprayed with white slip on the outside. I then put the piece in the kiln for the first firing. After the first firing I put the piece in a patterned stocking- I then sprayed with Albany Blue slip- When the slip was dry I removed the stocking allowing the pattern to appear I then sprayed the entire piece with Faux Celedon Glaze. The piece was then fired for the second time.
The vase is Microwave and Dishwasher safe.
