Policies

Brickhouse is not responsible for providing make-up classes or issuing refunds to students who miss classes due to illness, emergencies, or other events beyond our control. Prices, instructors and rooms are subject to change without notice. Studios are for use of currently enrolled students only. There is no surveying of classes; open houses are given three times a year to view our studios and meet our staff. Course registration is non-transferable from person to person. Brickhouse reserves the right to refuse registration to students with a history of inappropriate or disruptive behavior. Incidents of behavior not in accordance with the principles of Brickhouse are grounds for suspension, termination and revocation of registration.

Registration

You may register in person, by phone. Priority is given to those who register in person. Call 718-784-4907 for more information.

Late Registration

Late registration is permitted in certain classes prior to the second session if the class is not fully subscribed. There is no admission to any class after the second session. Brickhouse does not prorate the price of a class.

Cancellations

Brickhouse reserves the right to cancel a class or workshop. If enrollment goals are not met, a course may be cancelled up to 48 hours before the first scheduled class. In the event of a cancellation, a full refund is granted.

Refunds and Transfers

Refund and transfer requests must be made via mail or in person. Registration receipts are required and there is a $15 processing fee for all refunds and transfers.

Classes that meet four times or less

Refund requests must be received at least two weeks prior to the workshop in order to receive a 100% course refund. A 50% refund or credit toward a transfer may be issued up until three days before the workshop is scheduled. No refunds or transfers are given thereafter.

Classes that meet more than four times

To receive a 100% course refund, requests must be received at least two weeks prior to the first session. To receive a 75% refund, requests must be received at least one day prior to the first session. To receive a 50% refund, requests must be received at least one day prior to the second session. Transfers may be requested up to one day prior to the second class to another current Brickhouse class. No refunds or transfers are granted after the second class.

Benchtime

Use of studios without instruction is available to currently enrolled students only. Brickhouse benchtime schedules are posted outside the studios during the second week of classes. Benchtime cards are issued by the Director and must be presented upon arrival for benchtime. Some studios require a fee for benchtime use. Benchtime is not available for students taking workshops unless approved by the Director. Benchtime is non-transferable.

Lockers

Lockers are obtained for a fee. Students must provide their own locks. Lockers must be cleaned out at the end of any term or re-rented for the next term. Unpaid lockers are cleaned out after the end of each term and the contents disposed.

Work Exchange Assistantship

A limited number of work exchange assistantships are available in all areas of Brickhouse. Students interested in applying should contact the Director or call 718-784-4907.
